A Man of Many Names
Today we are here for one common purpose
To celebrate a man who meant the world to us
He was Christened Dave Smith at a very young age
But let’s see what happens when we turn a page
Smith became Biff as a Teddyboy teenager
But it was Dave the Carpet when enjoying a wager
Either on line or in the drive
To make a living he did strive
It wasn’t long before he was known
As the Carpet Man who sold from home.
To both his boys he was simply Dad
The best mentor they could ever have had
Affectionately known as Uncle Duncan by a few,
A special man we’re all proud we knew
By some he was known as Grandad Tibby
By others just very simply dear old Smiffy
His favourite tipple, a whisky he’d enjoy
And oh so many we shared with you Fatboy
Our wonderful Geggy it’s time to say goodnight
God bless you Dave Smith, please sleep tight

Remembering fun times as a teenager with a brilliant group of friends at the Queens Head in Great Clacton. Lots of laughs and mischief.
